Well Schumi's done it again

Michael Schumacher just won his fifth world title and 61st race. IMO he deserves it, only driver who was ever in his league was the late, great Ayrton Senna.

Great race, great year. Some of us don't realize it, but we're actually WITNESSING history being made. It makes me proud to be an MS supporter, fan, if you please, since basically the start of his career. i'll do a more thorough post with my race comments in a few hours (if anyone's ineresting).

yeh i guess we are watchin history, hes the best ever, and will probly get another 1 or 2 titles before he quits. hes contracted till at least 2004 isnt he? yeh its good to be a fan. i used to be a fan of Ayrton Senna's ever since i saw him at Donnington Park, and when he died i started watchin Schumacher.

Great race. Maybe. Great year. Definately not. Witnessing history. Yes! As much as I dislike Ferrari F1 and M.S., I must congratulate him on a historical achievement. I am glad I saw the race to witness such an event. As for the race, it was unfortunate about Kimmi, because he deserved the win much more than M.S. Schumacher is a very skilled driver, but I cannot believe how lucky he gets. He was handed that race. One may argue he was there to take the lead when Raikonnen made a mistake, but I don't think Raikonnen made a mistake, he was just unlucky. I did not like the way Schumacher attacked him at the corner as well after Kimmi was off the track. Not very sporting (and despite what Ferrari fans may believe, he that was not a strategic move - there was no way Raikonnen could have made it out in front of M.S. after that slide). As for Barichello's fortunes, I cannot believe what a one person team Ferrari is. I was cracking up when I saw Barichello sitting on the jacks at the formation lap. I realize that he had a problem with his car and Ferrari mechanics weren't just being idiots, but it was still very funny and very symbolic of Barichello's year.

I think it is foolish to say this was a great year. Even if you are a Ferrari fan, you should realize this is not a good year in F1. Prost is gone, and that situation is a mess. Arrows might be joining them. Jaguar is still struggling. Honda still can't compete. Team orders. A one sided Driver's Championship. Boring races (Spanish GP comes to mind). Only positives were M.S.'s record, Toyota and Renault's success and a great Monaco GP.

Congrats to M.S. on his success this season. Now I hope Ferrari concentrate on next year and let Renault, Williams and McLaren duke it out in what has become an increasingly competitive and interesting mid-pack battle.

he raced great, but i dont think he would have won im kimmi riakonnon didnt go off the track for a few seconds, that allowed micheal to build a led and he kept it great year for him and a awsome carrer probably next year will be his 6th world championship, then maybe he will go for seven but i think he will only race for 2 or three more years so he can get his record high so that noone can ever break it

i think the last 2 races have been quite good compared with the rest of the season. The season has been good because even though it was won from the beginning, second place has been wide open, as is shown by the fact the next 4 drivers after schumacher are seperated by 4 points (cant remember exactly off the top of my head). Hopefully now Ferrari will turn their attentions to Barrichello and maybe the races will be a little more competitive if Schumacher eases off a little.

I don't think he's the best driver EVER, I think Fangio was a better driver. He didn't have all these fancy driving aids. Moss was a remarkable driver, and he couldn't keep up with Fangio most of the time...

I hope Arrows stays in, they've been doing so well with so little money... Heinz Harald Frentzen is god!
