GC going into limp mode

:banghead: My 94 3.3L GC is going into limp mode at around 30-35mph with very slight throttle and with no acceleration at all. Dealer scanned for codes about a month ago and led me to the solenoid pack. Bought new pack and both speed sensors and replaced them myself. Had good results until this last week when it started going into limp mode again. It can sometimes go for a couple weeks without doing it. Tranny was replaced 50,000 miles ago with a chrysler reman. Pan was dropped 8000 miles ago with 5-6 quarts of ATF+4 and new filter.Dealer said the +4 was better than the +3. I justed changed it again last week with another 5-6 quarts of +4 . No filter change this time. When it goes into limp mode from 3rd, it is an abrupt shift to second where it slows the van down considerably. There is no shudder in the converter. Dealer also checked the cluth volume index with no bad results.Any thoughts out there?

Several years back Chrysler UltraDrives had a problem with the pigtails that connected to the input and output speed sensors. This would cause an intermittent limp mode problem. Tranny would be fine for a time then suddenly it would go to limp. The bad pigtail would cause no signal to the computer from the sensor. Pigtail problem was bad enough for Chrysler to issue updated pigtails. Dealt with this so ofter that I even had the part numbers written on my tool box.

i would check the speed sensors again, and or wiring to them, they have a bad history, my father's 92 failed twice, I took delivery on new 04 and it failed after the first 4 hours we had it!!!!

Thanks to all of your responses. I think I will look really closely at the connections on the speed sensors and probably will try another input sensor since they are fairly inexpensive. Thanks again guys.

After fighting with this van for weeks and weeks, Ifinally found a trans controller at local salvage yard. It cost me $75 for the thing, (he actually give me two of them to try) and I think I have finally nailed the problem on the head. Cross my fingers though. Thanks for all the replies that were given. Next on the list is replacing drivers side axle. torn boot.
