I could of pulled of the dyno like that in my mom's neon. Thats nothing.

looks like a strap gave away... might of been too close to a hot exhaust pipe and burnt through.

When I took my Z28 to get a baseline dyno, the guy said he couldn't dyno me after he put me on, cause the way his straps were situated they'd hit my exhaust and he was affraid that they'd melt through.

He said it's a bad thing when a car comes off the dyno at 120mph.

It's always a good idea to put some blocks in place, unless you have an AWD car of course.

my friends brother has his dyno built in so they run the cars pointing out of the shop. strapped (chained in some cases) on 4-6 points and with a lot of space either side of the car and the empty parking lot out ahead. if it comes off the dyno it runs out into a big industrial estate.

the guy was all "stage two...yea!" ok, whatever. it came of because the guy driving didn't keep the wheels straight. what an idoit (the onwer)

Guy never did a thing to his car, couldn't tell you how to turn on his E-manage, but his car was "the shit". Until it got lit up by a ws6 w/ exhaust+cams :grinyes:

lol yeah i was totally joking. anyone who thinks a lumina is a sweet car needs help..lots of it. i'm embarrassed of my car. it's ugly and people and things keep hitting me so there's a ridiculous amount of cracks in my front bumper.

yesterday a kid on a bike ran into it while i was sitting in it cuz i had just pulled into my driveway. had i had my eclipse (what i'm saving up for) that kids parents would've gotten an asschewing. but oh well...i'm poor and this is all i get.

In reality the cars usually not gonna go that fast off of the dyno. Dyno runs are not conducted in 1st gear. Mine was done in 3rd, and I would think that the car would more or less just hop first, peel out, and maybe go a few feet. Then again I guess an automatic car would be different.

Odd, it should of been done in 4th gear.

4th gear is usually the closest to 1:1 gear ratio... makes for more accurate reading.

as for the 2nd vid to...2nd car...wtf, i can burn a donut too...

HP is the same reguardless...you just have to correct the torque because it will be multiplied through gearing.

Cars comming off dyno's at 120mph would be that bad, especially in a manal. the car has 0 inertia and unless it is AWD the tires arent going to have the traction to dump all of that inertia fro mthe engine, transmission, drive shaft, and wheels to the ground at once.

it isnt going to be pretty, but it isnt going to be ungoddly violent.

the worse thing that could happen would be rolling forward just far enough for the back tires (assuming a FWD car) to hit the roller....which has many many foot pounds of inertia.
