Incessant Dash Rattle

The piece that goes across the dash at the very top next to the windsheild on my wifes "95 Lesabre rattles almost constantly. There are two rounded posts that appear to hold it, but I cannot figure out how to tighten them. I can turn them by hand, no slots for screwdriver, but they do no tighten. Pushing down on them does nothing. Any suggestions?

BTW the problem we had with the SES lamp no upshift, high rpm, dropping out of O/D was caused by the TPS sticking about half way open and this only happened when we had accelerated hard as to pull out on the Intestate etc. All at once the lamp would come on the car would drop out of O/D with no 3-4 upshift and the engine rpm would stay up around 2000-2500 rpm. It was concerning as we were doing 50+ mph with out cruise on or accelerating. May be this info will help someone else. Emmett

I have a '95 lesabre and have a similar problem. I have found out that the top of the dash is rubbing against the plastic that is mounted on the door. I have used protrolum jelly to rub between thes two parts and that stops most of it.

That dash piece has 2 bolts that hold it in place, one at the driver side, the other on the passenger side. The bolts are hidden underneath small covers on the piece (about an inch in width, 3 1/2 to 4 inches in length)You will need to pry these covers off with a screwdriver to gain access to the bolts. They may just need to be tightened.
