1992 f150 wiper motor problem

I first thought that the wiper motor was bad on my 1992 f150, so I replaced it. That did not solve the problem. I took out the turn signal/wiper control switch out of the steering column to see if the switch was bad and it seems to be fine. When ever I turn on the wipers, the only thing that happens is I can hear a clicking noise some where under the dash towards the passenger side. Does anybody know what or why the wipers will not work.
