it's kinda too small to be a matrix, and plus, it doesn't have to be just turbo to run in the 14s, they had to do more than just a turbo upgrade.

I wanted to say pt cruiser gt because with mods a turbo could get down in 14.5. By the position of the side marker however I'm going to say 05' civic si (although it would take a bit of modification for a 14.5.
Edit: upon further analysis of the taillights I'd say this is your culprit. The position of the side markers in front and taillights being up high led me to this. It would agin take a bit of work for a 14.5 I would think.

The one in the left lane kinda looks like a Prelude from the taillights. Can't really make it out though.

well, i really don't think that's a prelude, or a focus, hey we can jump to conclusions and say it's a honda fit :P

i think it's time for a little reeesearch :P
for the sake of argument, should i look for the latest models? or matching years, cuz this debate could go on forever, let's narrow it down eh?

I dunno, whatever, I know the factory supercharged ones come with 240HP, then jump to 260 in some other year....

Well this may help:
97-03 GTP = mid-high 14s(SC3.8L(gen3 M90) 240hp)
04-05 GTP = mid-high 14s(SC3.8L(genV M90) 260hp) (Its slightly heavier)
06 GT = mid high 14s(SC3.8L(genV M90) 260hp)
05-06 GXP = high 13s-low 14s(LS4 V8 303hp)

well as far some of the specs i've found on the 02 and the 06 gti, they lose against the gtp, but there are many factors and usually a race never ends the same unless the car is ridiciously fast, i still favor the gti, cuz i love that car, oh i don't know this is going nowhere, i need someone with more knowledge because mine is limited.

I could be a little wrong on some of these
(1991-1998) Mk. III GTi 2.0 = 150hp
(1991-1998) Mk. III GTi VR6 = 172hp
(2000-2001) Mk. IV GTi 1.8t = 150hp
(2000-2001) Mk. IV GTi VR6 = 174hp
(2002-2005) Mk. IV GTi 1.8t = 180hp
(2002-2005) Mk. IV GTi VR6 = 200hp
(2006+) Mk. V GTi 2.0t = 200hp
So the power numbers stock v. stock favor the GTP, but you also have to figure in that the GTi will weigh less. Most GTis that you will see these days around a track will be Mk. IV 1.8t's w/ a chip that gives it +30-40 hp and +50-60 lb-ft.
So my guess would be
chipped GTi > stock GTP > stock GTi
(1991-1998) Mk. III GTi 2.0 = 150hp
(1991-1998) Mk. III GTi VR6 = 172hp

Yes, but the GTP's respond very well to mods too with their stock blower...

After much review...the ruling on the strip is 02-05 Civic Si...the ugly and slow one. And I can even understand the 14.5 with turbo...they're pretty solid upper 15's...so add i/e/h and it might make sense.
