GM covering bad transmission after warranty

I have a 2001 Montana that the 4th gear shaft went out at 80,000 miles and had to have it replace. This seems to be a common problem for this transmission. Does anyone know if GM will coverthis know problem or know a course of action that I could pursue this matter?

Get your bills together, conatct the Pontiac customer assistance line and request a goodwill policy reimbursement for the trans work, or go to a Pontiac dealer ask the SM for possible goodwill assistance on the repair.

you're double the original warranty terms

Hey, its worth a shot. My '02 Montana blew a head gasket about 3-4 months ago with 58K on it. Politely complained to GM that this is a very well known and common problem. They covered 50% of the bill. Only bad thing was, it had to be repaired at a GM dealership. About double the cost. It never hurts to try. Good Luck.

My 4th clutch hub assembly on my 03 Montana failed at 125,000 kms.
Dealer no help. Area Mgr no help. GM Customer service no help. However CSR told me my next option was stated in my warranty book. He would not tell me what, just where.

Answer. Independant Arbitration.
Outcome. registered, planned my case, went before the board (one guy)
GM made me an offer part way through the proceedings. They offered to pay the parts, if I covered the labour. Went to the dealer in 2 weeks and picked up a check for $1640.00
