97 wrangler gauges problem

ok, we've got a 97 wrangler, 2.5 i think, but the gauges stop working alot, the lights for them stay on, but all of the gauges just shut down, and stop working, kick on and off everyone once in a while? what could this be, we are getting ready to sell the jeep, so we have to get everything fixed, if anyone can help i appreciate it alot, thanks!

The gauge cluster connection is loose. It is one of the common problems in 97-99? TJs. All you need to do to fix it is to take the dash apart to be able to remove the gauge cluster, once the cluster is removed, push the conector that is in the dash up or down a bit so that the contacts are better connected when you put the cluster back in. I never had the issue again after doing this.

my friend has a 92 jeep is it the same problem?
