Steering Help!

I have a 1968 Mustang with power steering. I would like to know how the steering should feel. I just a bought a brand new steering box by flaming river. I also just replaced the power steering control valve. When i drive it i don't feel comfortable with it. Looking underneath the car, the only "play" in the system is when the powersteering valve is opening letting the fluid to a certain side of the ram. I would like to new what i can do to improve this. Thanks
