I have a 2001 Silverado with no getup and go. Sometimes it seems to work fine but most of the time not.
It idles fine, but when I accelerate, it boogs down and has no power. Sometimes I can turn off the engine, restart it and, it's fine for awhile.
The Check Engine Light is NOT ON.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Bruce

Yeah, I know what you mean....my truck is the same way.....It just feels like like it just chugs along......nothing special......I changed everything in my truck....but still that pep is not there....If you ever drove on one of those early mornings or late nights when that cold crisp air goes through your engine, you will know what I mean.......Now if it could drive like that all the time.....that would be something....

sounds to me that the fuel filter needs to be replaced. that will make all the differance sometimes. try that before anything. you also want to disconnec the negative battery cable for 5 mins.. this will clear the PCM and restore the factory defaults. Overtime the computer learns your driving habits.

Probably not related, but have you ever cleaned the throttle body?
If not, it's surely time to do so. Might as well do it if you're doing any other maintenance. It takes about 15 minutes (or less) to do.
