so i bought a new car, an 85 mr2, this is going to be another project car, i got it for $300, needs a new fendor, and new motor(so i was told) i checked the codes and it needs a new tps sensor and new radiator hose....sweet deal considering the guy had just bought it for $1400 a week prior and thought the motor was blown cuz of how bad it ran. i already started tearing it down

and the engine bay is dirty as shit, i forgot to mention i tried driving it home and it broke down and exploded the oil pressure unit off the block and sprayed oil all over my firends truck....lol

see the blue car in the background? thats a 04 corolla S, a freind called me saying he needed me to wire in the new piggyback ecu and help him put it on cuz he didnt know what to do w the fuel lines and stuff, i got the whole thing done in about 5 hours, reccomendation is 12 and the only thing he did was take off the intake maifold and intake :)

id say hes about 170 hp and over 180 tq, its about even w a this 00 gt-s...not too shabby for a $14000 car + $2500 supercahrger, hes going water/alc injection and 12psi (at 7.5 now but only seeing 6.5 weve got a boost leak) still its tourqy as shit

the supercharger dosent add alot of power, its only at 7 psi and hes only seeing about 6. at 12 psi i bet hed put down 200 WHP asnd drop to 13's, thats his goal is to just hit 13's

I just thought with the injector system he'd at least have an extra 10 ponies. How much of a difference did it make then? I'm not too familiar with the gains of the water injectors, but I thought they help a lot.

the water/alc injection isnt on yet, after its on + (now hes sayin only 9 psi cuz he dosent have forgies, pussy) the new pully i think hell get 200whp

so how much of a difference will it make with the injector system? Do you know if there is a way to use it on a regulare N/A motor? like can it get misted enough not to mess things up?

i would see no point unless you were BUILT on a n/a engine, i think you might be able to get a little higher CR on alc because it has more heat energy, but its harder to ignitie

ALOT it keeps everything cooler, and is basically an octane booster

I'm very interested in the injectors for that reason, but wasn't sure with out forced induction if it would atomize enough to not f up anything. Plus the motor I'm going to get comes stock with 12:1 compression. I'm kidna surprised and wonder if Toyota just made a typo, lol. Cuz isn't 12:1 on a stock car mad crazy compression?

I doubt it.. the 1zz rods are weak. MonkeyWrench Racing made 365whp on a stock 2zz though with their turbo kit.

yea, inlines/flat motors have better harmonics, but I can give some credit for Vs having better weight distribution when set up longitudinally.

bah, that's a dumbass car, lol. Anyone who buys one buys it cuz they think it's "pretty" shame on Mitsu for not just bringing back the way they used to be. Even a GS-T using a detuned Evo motor would have been awsome compared to their very american style POS. I mean when mags compare a car to a V6 camaro you know it sucks.

but what I meant was engines compared longitudinal, like a longitudincal inline 4 or 6 compared to a V6.

i dont think its the engine thats the problem really, 263hp is almost as much as the evo. they should just cut it down to atleast 3k lbs and make it rwd. it is too big and too domestic-ish though.

you forget they must make a car that appels to the masses as a whole, not just the "tuner" market

and mainly they didnt use the 4g63 is becuase of reliability, the new engine is way more reliable than the 4g, and probably due to emissions as well and the fact taht if they made this car rwd or AWD and put the evo engine in it, who would still buy the evo? expecially if this car was $5000 less

I was saying keeping it FWD like the GS-Ts. Are the new 4Gs cast iron blocks? One reason if I was the manufacturer to have it appeal to the tuner crowd is because it's not a very expensive sports car so many young people are in its price bracket and if tuner people make it faster and cooler it makes it more appealing to have usually.

It was from me putting on my turboback a while ago. Its funny that you mention Infineon because Brian is going to run next week (hes buying a 98 m3). His boss with an auto g35 is going to run as well. I would like to run but Im going to wait until I get my new turbo and some injectors(some tuning would probably help as well :p) Hopefully I see you there. What are you hoping to run?

meh i duno if ill be there i wanna go down to BSP and get some tuning dyno runs in first, hoping to put down about 160WHP and run at least mid 14's on 7 psi and 2.5 inch downpipe mated to my stock exhuast and a crappy IC

pretty much i need to get the car onh the street, once that sdone then i get the mr2 in the garge, tore down and rebuilt or at least replace the HG, then the cleica is going back in for a FMIC, metal headgasket, port/polish, and a 4agze bottem end....then im hoping for low 13's mabe highg 12's cuz ill be using the e52 ranny from the mr2, has closer gears plus an lsd....my tranny is SHOT, my 2nd is pretty much non existant, i dont even think ill be using it at the track, ill either start in 2nd, or go from 1st to 3rd, and im hoping for mid 14's :) 2400 pounds and 200 crank should be easy 14's...for a 1:10 ratio (2400, 240hp) you can expect 13's flat...ill probably be using a diffrent turbo in not too long, my manifold is only a log and the turbo is very small, next step is straight to a gt35R, the compressor maps match pretty decent w the F head, it enables fairly quick spool and ill be upping the redline to 7000rpm, ill have full boost by aroudn 4000

Awesome, I had no idea you threw a turbo on there already. Its been a while since Ive seen your car on the road but Ill keep my eye out for it.

Oh and totally random-do you know anyone who drives a grey TurboII FC around here? I played around with him on the highway but he got off before I could talk to him.

i know 3 a black red and white one, your probably talking about the white one, i see it all the time, we raced it in my friend turbo 300zx (first gen 280z lookin ones) and was close, we were rollin 2 deep he was alone

turbos on but car dosent run yet, im almost done w the wiring, i lost all my diagrams so i had to get them from over at celicatech, dont even have my chiltons, cant find it, woulda been able to do it w that, i also dont have a downpipe, but it should all be done by the end of next weekend, my only problem so far is that the injectors arent seating prperly, the traverse up and down a little bit but im not too worried as long as i keep fuel pressure

do it yourself, if your goingto have a shop do it your gunna be paying $$$, at least if you do it you can fab up everything for urself, its easyer for me tho cuz i have a welder

yea its blue, youve probably seen him around, it used to be an n/a one but its swapped to turbo setup

yours :) a dsm sidemount. yea bought the generic 8 piece set off ebay and cut/and clamed it together, in all honesty you could probably do it all w out welding
