this place has been pretty dead, so I will put my 2 cents in. It could be a number of things. CV Joints, Stearing knuckle, transmission, bad half axel, wheel bearings. Anything that move on the front end that is broken can make a clicking noise. Does it do it when the wheel is str8 or turned or both. If it does it when the wheel is turned it may be CV joints or Stearing knuckle. If it does it str8 then it could be all of the above. Get it checked out because it will probably get worse.

i'd go with motor mounts depending on how the car is driven. if it only does it under a sudden short burst of gas, it might just be a motor mount that is broken/worn/ normal

it happens when its straight, when i out it in reverse it clicks when i tap the gas and when i put it back in drive it does it again

It may be motor mounts (frankly, anyone with more than 40K miles and stock motor mounts probably should replace them because I wouldnt doubt that they were shot the moment they put them in the car at the factory). Motor mounts usually make a squeeky, bumping sound, and cause a rough idle. It may be a contributing factor though. You arent talking about the noise your transmission makes when you change from R to D are you? That is normal. From how it sounds it sounds like a drivetrain joint of somekind. There are so many things that it could be, your best bet is to at least get it checked and diagnosed, and see what your best option for fixing it is. Unless it's under warranty dont get it fixed at a dealer. Does the noise ever stop, like, it does it all the time when you stab on the gas, or just when you get going? From my experience it sounds like CV/Half axel.

it makes the noise when i first hit the gas after putting it in reverse and when i put it back into drive it clicks when i first hit the gas, its not an ongoing sound only those 2 times

Mine is manual and I think I know what you're talking about. It makes one click when I tap the gas when accelerating from a stop. It actually makes that click when the car's weight is shifting from the front to back (or vice versa) which makes me think it's coming from the suspension--kind of like a creaking or as if the screws aren't tight and the springs move around.
