well it's that time of year again, graduation. i have a couple of friends that are graduating from college. both my parents and i were wondering if you give graduation gifts for people that are graduating from college. i know you do for high school and stuff. but seeing how this is a little new to all of my family i was wondering if you do give gifts and what is appropriate?? any insight would be greatly appreciated

At my collegiate grad party, a lot of people went with "useful" items such as money, teacher-things (since I am a teacher), or other worldly things like grown-up watches/jewelry/gift cards that I could use in my own way. Hope that helps.

Well I graduated high school adn got zero $, and a nice leather jacket from Italy...that didn't have long enough sleeves
After college I managed $75, a free trip to Boston (on my cousin), and one of those long HEAVY jackets you wear over a suit.
Moral of the story: If you're getting them a jacket, make sure they want one and it fits. Money is always good, appreciated, and safe. And trips to Boston with free booze, parties, and otehr extra-curriculars is a FREAKING awesome present!
But yeah, I say go with money.
