Finally got a vr4!

Finally, after over a year of financial strife and trying to find the right car, I've closed the deal on a '93 vr4. I'll be taking legal ownership of her at 7pm tomarrow (Friday). $7500, 130k miles, black, boost controller, aftermarket gauge, 18" rims, lowered a bit on tein-s springs, intake, all the options (except it has no sunroof), and one of the most flawless beige interiors I've ever seen in a first gen. I can't beleive I found one in so good of condition. All the records, maintenance and only 2 owners (first owner had her from 93 to 2004). The seller claims about 350hp at the crank but I've read all sorts of stuff about mitsu overrating their engines so I'm not sure how much for real. At the risk of sounding overly giddy, I think I'm in luv :D. I just wanna get her home and give her a good bath and detail the hell outta her, lol.
Planned mods: I have my own sound system ready to go into her right away as well as a 3sx downpipe that the previous owner installed and then took off for emissions, he also gutted the rear precat. I'd like some tint down the road but I'm not sure how dark I want to go yet. I've also heard of an adapter that will hook up to an aftermarket headunit of some brands and make it work with the steering wheel's audio controls, so I'd like to do that in the future as well.
Some pics, better ones coming soon! She's a little dirty in these pix.

Wow, looks good. I am as well a fan more so of the first gens. And Linebckr, I think all VR4's regardless of the year had the 4-bolt right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

'93 VR-4 REPRESEEEENT!!! lol...
congrats bro. sounds like you love her as much as i love mine. Just wanna say one thing. before worrying about the stereo and stuff, make sure the 120k tune was done. "Make it last....then make it fast."
nice wheels btw...MORE PICS lol...

not all vr4 has the 4 bolt main. 91's had the 2 bolt, and if I remember correctly 92's has both 2 and 4, depending on when they were built

Actually the maintenance was on of the things that drew me to the car. both 60ks done one time, transmission rebuilt last september (as well as new clutch, plugs, wires, t-case and some other stuff), all documented. The only reason I'm going to stereo first is because I already have it and its been sitting in my room for months now because at the time I bought it, I thought I was going to have the car sooner.
On a sad side note, my insurance company doesnt open till monday so I can't get insured until then :( so hard to resist driving it lol
I'll be posting up some better pix sometime in the near future though. one of my friends with a big expensive camera owes me a photoshoot :P luckily my next door neighbor is going to lend me is buffer as well so I'll make her shine

I thought all VR4's had the 4-bolt main.? I was thinking only the 91 Sl's and bases had the 2 bolt and as you said the earlier 92's.
Oh, and I dont want to hijack so if someone can just throw answer on the side of their next post in here that would great. I have a 91 SL but it has a relatively new engine with about 38k miles on it that was imported from Japan. Is it possible that I now have the 4-bolt?

no. as Gateway confirmed, 91's and 92's had the 2-bolt main. the 4-bolt main bearing cap girdle was introduced midway through the 92 year model, so depending on which month your 92 was produced, it may or may not have the 4-bolt main. so 93 VR4's all had the 4-bolt main. not sure about tEh NA's. and well i'm really drunk so i may have misquoted someone.

no N/As have 4-bolt. the only 3/S's with a 4-bolt are TwinTurbo models built May/June 1992 and later. Not that it matters unless your pushing 500+ horsies at the wheels.

Welcome to the family. Also go register at 3si.org if you havent already and make sure you take a look at the different regions to find a group of owners close to you.
Audio: to make the steering controls work with an after market stereo you will more than likely need a pac-swi-x http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Hh7g4B939iX/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=750&I=127SWIX&search=pac+swi
Get the item where ever you want to, I just use crutchfield links because they have lots of details and easy to navigate. I have a Pac Swi-x waiting to be installed.
Body: Paint the mustache... Nothing says first Gen like that mustache does, the only un sexy part of the car.
