i have a 1984 fiero . new fuel filter , electric fuel pump, new fuses, and it sont start. gas is not being sent from the fuel pump. if i put gas directly into the throttle body it starts for 2 seconds. what could be the problem.

-Uzi,
Welcome to AF. HOW did the vehicle "stop"? did it sit overnight, and it just doesn't fire? were you flying' down the highway, and it shut off? or did you clip a curb avoiding grandma in cottonwood, and then nothing...?

I mean it could be a bent or crushed fuel line, being one off the lowest stock made vehicles; however, if this is not the case, then I'd start by buying a $6-10 "noid" test light from AutoZone, or CarQuest, etc. and plugging this in by the injector. it could be that the injector is clogged and/or damaged; thereby not getting electical input and/or not opening to spray the fuel...
OR
it might be a fuel pump relay; which is another $6-10-15 dollar part that would interfere with fuel delivery.
since the engine fires while manually spraying a fuel substance down its throat (TBI), you at least know that it is a minor, not major problem; and you have isolated it as a fuel delivery, not ignition or air intake, etc...
hope this helps,

Could be as simple as the fuse for the fuel pump, so eliminate that first.

Could also be the fuel pump relay, the oil pressure switch, or the ECM. You may need a schematic to aid in diagnosis as well as a fuel pressure gauge.
