My 99 chavy astro van hasn't been starting each time it rains. It also seems to make a funny rattling sound when i accelerate and the noise seems to come from the distributor. I just took my cap off and here are the pictures...should i replace?
Thanks.

1. Yes, replace the pair.
2. There should be no radial play in the distributor. Axial play up to about 0.040" is acceptable. There may also be some rotational "slop" in the distributor and drive, but it should notbe much more than about 1° before you feel resistance from the camshaft drive gear.
3. Inspect the ignition secondary wires closely for cracks, damage, and signs of carbon streaking. Use silicone grease to seal the wire boots to the new distributor cap when you reassemble.
