PROBLEM: my day time running lamps are not working. i was going to change the bulbs over to ambers but when i put them in neither side is working. i have checked the fuse and it is ok. i also checked for power to the DRL fuse and that was ok. there was no power to the DRL bulbs.
HISTORY: when i first bought the truck i hated the DRLs with a passion along with the auto head lights. to fix this problem i pulled the fuse for the DRLs. after that i did some research and found a fix for the auto head lamps for my 99 gmc sierra. the fix was to replace the sensor in the middle of the dash with a 12v led. the way that the sensor worked had something to do with resistance. with out the led the lights would be on all the time. So i did the fix and it works perfectly.
any ideas what the problem might be?

they only work when the truck is in drive and parking brake not applied. they do not come on in park.

Funny, I was just going to post this topic....... My drl's don't work either......I checked the fuse, and the relay under the hood and everything is ok......I bought new bulbs, but it still doesn't work......( I put a block of cement under my wheel, and put the vehicle in drive, when I was checking it) but still no light....Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for all your help guys....

hmm thats strange i just switched my drls to yellow or amber I too thought they were not working when I switched them but yes the car has to be in drive and e stop depressed it also has to be sunny and takes a few min. to activate what i did was drive around wait for them to activate then come to a stop light with a car in front of you, you should be able to see the reflexision of the light bulbs on front of you hope this helps:)
