I know I have seen posts about it before but I can't seem to find any. Any way I have an 01 with the cd/tapedeck in it and the light for the display like where the clock and track and all that are displayed has gone out. I believe I saw where someone posted a walkthrough of the fix but I can't seem to find it. If you know the link or how to fix it let me know. Thanks

Another thing to consider is that you could replace the entire radio with one of your choice from Crutchfield. They include complete tools and neccessary parts to do a perfect installation yourself and offer tech support for free.

thanks for the info. you would think with this being such a wide spread problem ford would stand behind their product. The messed up thing is I have a really nice alpine and I put it into my girlfriends truck less than a month ago because hers got stolen. cursed into buying new electronics i am so upset *sniff, sniff*. For future reference though crutchfield is way overpriced.

I like your thinking but we're talking about Ford here. There is a reason that they are in the tank.
