Do you have any tips/techniques that will help your car live forever?
What about weird things you've had to replace or fix because your car is still running fine?
Thanks!

keep it in your garage and dont run it, keep it clean and rust free and replace everything in the engine every month. replace every fluid regularly. when you try to run it in 50 years it'll be in perfect condition.

^ thats no fun.
Just dont beat up on the car, do ALL regular maintainance, and dont drive it in the winter (if you have snow and salt)

Repeat after me -- change the oil and filter every 3000 miles. Drive in a sane manner. Check your fluids. Fix things when they need to be fixed.

wax it routinely also. what good is a perfect engine if the outside is fallin apart?

splash a little oil on the underside areas and they will not rust, at least not until the oil washes off.

Its a car so i guess you could drive it till something brakes and have it completley restored lol why would want a car to last forever anyway? You woundlt get to have any fun with it.

Just never drive it, then it will last as long as you want it to...

Just beat the shit out of it, roll it a few times in a field, and then get a new one just like it. Then you'll think it's the same car, plus you'll have had a good time with it.

im extremley abussive to my cars but some advice that ive read in many ooks and then begin to notice is first ofcourse do the maintance which is more then oil its oil, filter, coolant, trans fluid, rear end, keep the car clean which includes washing and waxing. but repairs are the biggest thing not just to the drive train but to the body as well the body of a car wil last a long timebut thats very often where cars become to the point of nrepairable body work has a tendency of goin bad to horrible realy quikly. but i think everyone can think of at least one time they but an almost 20 year old car from an elder person that lookied brand new ran great and had 150k+ miles on it.

well, Ive had very good luck with all my Chevys, I change fluids on time, but other than that, they get beaten almost daily.
In my Silverado-
burried door deep in mud countless times
got wedged in a ravine
got high-centered on a rocky hill
driven through water over the hubs many times
driven through water deep enough to come into the intake, subsequently hydro-locking the engine
been the victim of three crashes, two of which totaled the other cars
been at fault in two crashes, one of which totaled the other car
lost control and went into the ditch twice
driven over ramps
played tug-o-war with other trucks (never lost)
drove at redline RPM for 15 miles
forgot to reinstall air filter while inspecting, drove for 2,800 miles
hit by a falling tree branch
broke through ice on a frozen river
Doesn't look like much, but you didn't ask about that :) it's got over 170,000 miles on it, and runs like new, and is almost entirely original, except for balljoints, tie rod ends, P/S pump, water pump, and brake master cylinder. I did swap axles, but the old ones were fine. Of course shocks, brake pads, tires, etc have been replaced.
In my Beretta-
Rolled into a ditch
In my S-10
Previous owner hit a tree, sold to me dirt cheap
drove 30,000 miles without changing the oil or filter (to win a bet)
slid sideways over a curb and into a tree while "drifting"
got stuck in muddy water up to the doors
Other than a bent axleshaft and wheel, and most of the oil changes, I have done NOTHING as far as repairs or maintenance

I need new sun visors because mine look like theyve been attacked by a wild animal. The only thing that has actually broken on my Civic is a cracked radiator shroud. The other things I have voluntarily replaced.
