Quick Valve Gasket and Cover Replacement question...

Quick question, I am going to replace the Valve Gasket and the cover on my 97 Spyder GS-T. I just wanted to know, should I drain the oil out first before doing this, I was thinking I proabably should, but just wanted to ask first?

No, because all the oil will be settled in the oil pan.
