I got my oil changed today and the mechanics, which I know are rip-offs, said i should get an engine flush and an oil flush. im not sure what an engine flush entails. they said i should do it about once a year for regular maint. should i have these done? thanks.

I'd say the usual wripoff. Im not sure what it entails but its probably just an oil change and maybe coolant change. You could do both urself, and if u wanted to you could even do a coolant flush, a flush just means you drain it out, chase it with something ie: water to clean it [for coolant], then refill with new stuff.
PS. You double posted, erase the other one :P

Oil flush is probably running some kerosene based solvent thru the oil before changing it.This ruins the oil's lubrication properties and kills the oil boundary layer while the engine is running.Usually an engine will knock or burn oil after using this method.I would steer clear of it.Cavaliers have enough piston knock already, they dont need to add more wear.

Yea, dont bother.. Could do more harm than good, just keep ur oil changed regularly and it will be fine. :smokin:
