Have a 94 Jetta with an automatic that has a few electrical problems.
The speedometer doesnt work . ( the trans speed sensor was replaced) .
The tachometer , horn and cigarette lighter dont work either . Have not found a bad fuse yet . Any good help would be appreciated .
Could the ECM be the problem or the speedo head unit? :frown: Thanks in advance

It sounds like more things are wrong than can be explained by a single fuse. Check your wiring harnesses and make sure that none of them have come loose. Odds are it would be at the main fuse box where the harnesses connect rather than on the different devices.

Looking over the wiring diagrams, it appears that you have multiple problems. The horn and cigarette lighter are on different circuits. The horn is on fuse13 (15A) while the lighter is on fuse22 (10A). The same holds true for the other items mentioned. If you don't have a wiring diagram, I can send you 43 pages of wiring diagrams for your car.

Dear Fellow autoforum members,
Ive found the problem for the horn . It was under the steeiring wheel . The
copper contact thats on the wiper switch was broken off , so there was no
contact with the steering wheel contact ring for the ground. Going to try to find a good used one tomorrow . A new one is about $40 . Used around $5 -10 . Thanks for the support.
