Hello everyone,
i wonder if there is a way to have the fog lights always opened on a 2005 TB LT? Im tired of always pressing the button to open them (i see a lot better the road with them and i like the look :grinyes: )
I know there are some ways to program some stuff with a dealer tool or something (i think i read some things about that, for the automatic locking of the doors, etc) but i would like to do that myself if it is possible.
Thanks for your time.

domvoyer,
Some states, Illinois is one, treat the fog/driving lights as they would high beam. In other words, you're supposed to turn off your fog lights when meeting or coming up behind traffic. Of course it's another unenforcable law in Illinois but you might want to check state and local laws before proceeding.

Well, even if it was something against the law, i mean, you need to have a crazy cop to arrest you because you had your fog lights on.
So is there a way to have them always on on a trailblazer???

When I installed factory fogs on my LS there were several ways to do it.
I decided to control them independently with a toggle switch.
That way I could have the fogs on with the brights.
You have to cut and ground the wire coming into the BCM under the rear drivers seat with the toggle switch. (Green wire with White stripe)
You just have to remember to turn them off when you leave the vehicle.

Wouldn't it be possible to just change the stock switch with switch that has a positive on/off?

You can replace the headlight switch with one that has a fog button.
It runs @ $60.00 but you also have to re-program the BCM for @ $75.00
Grounding the wire with a toggle switch is just a cheap alternative.
My LS needed everything from scratch so I designed brackets.

Careful that hook up would fail NYS safety inspection, the fogs/running lites cannot be wired that way. They can only be operated during low beam operation only.
