I just got a ~20" monitor for free. It's freakin' HUGE! At least compared to my 13". :(
But, it's a couple years old, and the picture is kinda blurry. I degaussed it, but it's still kinda bad. :( Can anything fix this, or did I get what I paid for?

I did that to my home monitor before I knew what it did. I was impressed with the cool effect...then surprised and horrified when they didn't go away :D:D:D

At work once, I was talking about the effects of magnets on TV tubes, but I wanted to demonstrate. So, I grabbed the phone reciever, and used the magnets in there to screw up the monitor I was at. Again, degaussing fixed it easily. So then I wondered, "What if the magnetic fields were off-kilter when degaussed?" I put the phone against the monitor and degaussed it again, and the screen reset itself around the magnet, screwing up the picture pretty good. After that, that monitor wouldn't go back to normal for about a day.
