Disabling 98 Eclipse factory alarm

I have a Viper 1000 installed in my 98 Eclipse GS and yesterday apparently my factory alarm somehow got re-enabled and is going off every time I open the door and I cannot stop it as I don't have my remote (should be here tomorrow hopefully). I was wondering if there was a way to disable it from underneath the hood as I still have the hood popped but don't want to open the door to set the alarm off again as it's highly annoying to everyone who lives around me. If it's only able to be disabled from inside the car, I still need to know however, as I will do it once I can disarm it.

Any info is appreciated.

There should be a fusible link for it under the hood. Consult your owners manual for the correct one.

Heh, yeah. Too bad I never got an owners manual when I bought the car. I also didn't get a manual for my alarm or stereo. I swear...these people not giving you manuals even after you ask for them. Nothing like not knowing how to program anything.

My car does the same thing. It seems that the only time it does it is if I lock the doors manually then shut them, I guess this activates the factory security somehow. Anyways, to stop it I just un-hooked the negatives on the battery then hook them back up.

Same here, but the only way i get the green security light is if i lock the doors and arm it...but then the factory alarm goes off

Haha you are going to love me. Open both doors and find your door switches on the bottom of the doors unscrew them and disconnect them. Use electric tape and tail the connection to the switch and feed it back in so u can get to it again then screw the switch back on the doors. Your door light will never come back on but your car will always think that the doors are closed and not locked. This will not affect your battery as well ;) yea buddy your welcome
