If you want to do major work on the engine it only takes a couple of hours to drop the engine on the cradle out of the car. The Fiero engine is on a similiar front cradle of a Citation, but in the back. It is no more difficult to work on than any other front wheel drive car engine.
As a nearly 20 year old car, unless you find a good one, the Fieros can have many issues other than the engine that will need work.
