96 3.1 P0341 code

my 96 3.1 set a SES light, code P0341, that stayed on thru two trips and shut off during a third trip. it has not come back since (about four trips since). Chiltons shows the code as "CMP sensor performance" which i assume is the camshaft position sensor. questions:

1. should i be worried since it turned off? i'm planning on a 16 hour round trip for mother's day weekend.

2. where is the sensor located?

3. i had the intake manifold gasket replaced about 250 miles ago. could this be a timing or adjustment problem from that repair that i need to take back to the shop that did the work?

I believe it's unrelated, and the cam sensor is just going bad. It "could" be reated to the intake repair, as the cam sensor is located right next to the end of the intake under the power steering pump. If the shop wasn't careful, they could have one of the cam sensor wires pinched. It wouldn't hurt to have them do a follow up check to be sure.
