Transmission?!?!?!

:banghead: I own a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT, 3400 SFI.
57,000 miles, Automatic

I notice a creeking sound after I put my transmission from Reverse to Drive.
It won't make the creeking sound while I'm going from R to D. It takes like 2 seconds and then it will make the noise.

The dealership told me I need to have my transmission system flushed. There is gunk and dirt in the transmission and the tranny flow pattern from Reverse to Drive is getting confused, Or the transmission fluid is not flowing fast enough. They checked the fluid level it started pouring from the tranny.
My car does not have a tranny dipstick. A certified GM dealer has to check it by unscrewing a bolt on the side of the transmission.

By the way... The car shifts fine while I'm driving, it does not slip.

Any inputs on this situation?

Thanks,
Gary

I am not a fan of transmission flushes but with less than 60K miles I think you will be safe. Make sure that you have them change the fluid and filter when they do the flush. It is possible that the filter is getting clogged and that is causing the issues you are experiencing. Good Luck!!
