He guys,

while I´m working on my BMW, I wanted to start a new project. The Revell Tuner Civic HB.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_002.jpg

You can build this one stock or custom. I´ll make the custom one of course :)
Here the diffrents between the bodykitts:

I also ordered the Scale auto Style widebody for the civic.
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_008.jpg

http://www.best1hobby.com/image/sas/satk8.jpg

I also bought some other wheels. XS-tuning wheels 17''. These wheels are made for this kitt and will fitt without customize.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_010.jpg

I also searched for some detail photo's:

New update:

The widebody is added to the civic. I filled al the gaps with putty and sanded it.

I also made a start to the engine.

A new update!

I changed my idea for the valvecover. I painted it flat red and used some CF for the spark-plugcover.

I used a custom exhaust header and painted it with metallic blue and orange to create a hot curves :P

Also made a rubber on the air intake:

Now it's time to fitt the bodykitt good on the front and rearbumper.

I spent some time on the bodywork and sanded it after the putty...Than I sprayed the primer on it to look if there are places that need some putty again.

There were a couple of little places that needs to be sanded again but that's no problem!

I also decided to keep the white XS-tuning wheels for an other project (civic coupe) and I made some photo's of al the TUNERS SERIES wheels I've got.

Help me!

Finally I spent some time working on the Civic.

First I painted the wheels.
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/velgen_001.jpg

The original seats are to bad so I decided to search for others. I found some and they had a bit putty work.
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/rood_001.jpg

Than I painted the XS-tuning Discbrakes
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/rood_002.jpg

First I wanted to paint the car yellow but now I wanted him RED!!:evillol:

I also painted the enginebay red:
http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/rood_003.jpg

Than it was time for the big moment. Painting the body. I used TS-49 Bright Red.
The carbonfiber decal is the stock one wich came within the kit. It was really hard to put this one nice on the hood. I had 2 of these carbon hood decals and I needed them both... :frown: I screwed up the first one and the second one was better. I had a little wrinkle on one place so I added some tuning decals on it.

I really like it now. Red body, CF hood, White wheels :licka:

Here are the pics:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/rood_013.jpg

Maybe I'll ad a big white flashdecal from the Integra kit on it if it fits. Than I can clear coat the body and polish it!

Hope you like it!

A couple of days ago I picked up the civic again.

I clear coated the body after I added some extra decals.
This is one of my best paintjobs so far. Without the clear coat it was shining but now it's much better :)...
I even don't go polish the body. The shine is good and I don't want to screw this one up...

I also finished the enginebay. Some decals are added etc.

It's looking good. It looks like you did a good job molding it. There are 2 things though. First is that intake sleeve. On a short ram intake there is only one sleeve and it's used to connect the tube to the intake manifold. The only other time that there is possibly another sleeve is when you have a Cold-air intake.

The next thing I can't believe I'm saying since I hate huge body kits. The wide body just doesn't seem big enough.

JDM?!?!?!?!?! Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to insult you. But do you even know what JDM is? It's definately not this. Check out www.hondatuningmagazine.com Go to "features" and check out their past articals. Not all of it's JDM but a lot of it is. Once again don't take any offence, I'm not trying to be a jerk. JDM verry rarely involves body kits, and when it does they're usually verry subtle.

jdm style in the usa is subtle, but cars in japan mostly do have bodykits and go all out. just look at the green mr2 that was in i think superstreet or import tuner a couple months ago. but for the literal meaning of jdm, i see what you mean.

That shine is great, nice work on the paint and decals kinda subtle, that makes it look better. The wheels came out good too! the only thing i think is that you didnt modify the front bumper to match up with the widebody...oh well idk if i would go back now cuz its almost done on the exterior. oh one more thing are you going to cut out that front grill? imo i think you should, n maybe put some mesh behind it or just leave it a black hole. w/e you want to do is up to you, its coming along great, nice use of the widebody kit.

I will cut out the front grill yes. Maybe some black or silver (real) mesh will be added than.

@ Some kid: The paint explenation is: 2 lays of Tamiya Grey primer, Than a couple of bright red (ts-49 i think) and than 3 lays of TS-13 clear. I used only Tamiya paint for this model.
I also put the rattle cans under hot water. There will be more pressure than and that gives a smooth result.

The paint looks excellent. Could you explain some of your technique and what type of paint you use?

The paint is TS-49 Bright Red from Tamiya. I only use tamiya spray cans.

My technique is very simple. I shake the spray can very good and than I hold it under a tap (where the water comes out) with hot water.
When you hold it in hot water you'll get more pressure in the spray can. I sprayed about 3 lays on the body.

Believe me it works very easy and the result is great as you can see! And it's not polished yet :)

I cutted out the grille out of the frontbumper but I scratched the paint. I sanded it and now it's ready for some new paint.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/uitlaat_001.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/bumper_005.jpg

For an unknown reason the frontbumper was damaged a little bit. So I had 2 options:

-repair the damage and painting it again :grinno:
-put an license plate on it :grinyes:

I also added the foglights. The grille was made with some RVS mesh. It took me a while to make it and glue it into the bumper but I think it looks better than the original grille :)

First I made the hole for the I.C.E. After that I puttied it all and paint it black and added some interiorflocks.

looks awesome !

check the alignment on the passenger side of the front bumper and the edge of the fender where they meet.

please paint the tail lights red, the chrome looks crazy and too unrealistic.

I love the progress !

I'll paint the lights in black with clear glass. I also don't like that Chrome Lexus look :grinno:

Last week I spent some time on a few of the last parts.

First I painted the head and tail lights in black. Than I glued the clear glass on it. There are no glue areas so it was really hard to put them on the units. Also the glasses had an other 'rounding' so they fitt really bad :naughty:

Than I painted the black corners on the windows. (correct me if I say it wrong) And inside I painted the roof in interior colour.

Than I placed the body on the chassis and interior. They had to be screwed together. After that I placed the wheels.

And finally I placed the wiper on the back.

Now I only have to place the frontbumper and the carbon hood (''ll make this one this week)

Maybe with some good luck I can finish this beauty this weekend with Christmas :D

I got this from Scaleautostyle but that manufactor had stopped the production of these transkits. I alo don't know the price of it. I thought 4,75 British Pound.
