I have the 420A motor and around 6,000 rpms my oil pressure hits 100 psi and at idealing speed it is usal 70 psi unless i just get off the freeway after driving 10 miles. Is it supose to be that high and if not what would be causing it to be high and how can i fix it so that it runs normal.

small things can cause it...bad oil pressure gauge...or even a dented oil pan..can through off your readings...

I have a glow shift oil pressure gauge. I use a bosch oil filter and castrol gtx high milage 5w30 oil. I change the oil and filter ever 2,500 miles. I think that it might be the oil filter but i am not sure if that can cause it.

Yeah that's definitely quite high, at least on the idle side. Mitchell says it's supposed to be at 4psi curb idle and 25-80 at 3000rpm

It is in that range when the car has just been driving and is all warmed up but if i hit the gas and rev it to 7,000 it hits 100 is that normaly.
