Temp sensor

Hi! I have an 89' Honda Civic DX with a weird temp sensor error. It was operating fine, then it spiked and it only returns to normal after the engine has cooled off. When you start driving it again, it will be fine for about ten mintues of normal driving then it will spike to top of the gauge and not return until the car is cool. I know the engine is not that overheating and I replaced the temp sensor with no change. Any thoughts? Thanks.

check your thermostat, as it may be sticking. Does your hot air work when this happens? You may also have air in your cooling system, or your coolant may be low. Try topping it off and bleeding it.
