Intermittent no start/fuel pump control module

I have a 2000 taurus, flex fuel, and it has an intermittent no start problem. After putting a computer on it, I believe the code it threw was 1233, which said something about a fuel pump control module. I went through several tests, checked the intertia switch, etc, but nothing seemed to check out. The fuel gauge doesn't work on this fine piece either. After doing a little research, I found that this car has been to the dealership several times, with no results, any ideas?

These are tough to find. Fuel pumps are common on these cars. You really need to be ready with a fuel pressure tester and test light when car does not start. Some times you can smack the gas tank while cranking the key to get it to fire up. You can probe the inertia switch in the trunk when some one else cranks it over and that will give you a good indication if you are getting power to rear of car. Inertia switch is in the trunk. You cant test it yourself because fuel pump will only power up for three seconds when key is turned on.
