Well, at the beggining of the week some asshats broke into my truck and stole my headunit and nav system (AVH-P6500DVD and AVIC-88).
Well, fortunatly I have a rider on my audio/video system so my insurance covered it. (best 12 bux a year I ever spent, after the 100 deductable I ended up with a little over 4200.00 bux)
I ended up with a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/p...DetailComponent (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_3151_295632461_tab=B,00.html?compName=PNA_ ProductDetailComponent)
Damn Spiffy system. After looking at the specs link above, you can see my updated interior and exterior pics @ www.pghconsulting.net/teal (http://www.pghconsulting.net/teal) http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gifhttp://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/smoker.gif http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
And yes, it's a DOUBLE DIN unit http://www.blazinlow.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
Note: Pioneer leaked the bypass procedure so you can input nav while driving (or watch DVD's on the head unit)
green wire grounded (no connection to e-brake)
:start car and at "starting pioneer navigation screen" flicker your lights
:you have to hit "okay" to confirm connection is legal
:you also have to hit "okay" to confirm the e-brake isn't properly connected
:the dvd will then play regardless of the position of the e-brake
:you can switch in between navi, dvd, am/fm, and library
green wire properly connected to e-brake
:e-brake must be off
:start car and at "starting pioneer navigation screen" flicker your lights
:you have to hit "okay" to confirm connection is legal
:the dvd will not play if e-brake is engaged and then released (must restart car and redo the whole process in order to get dvd w/o e-brake on)
:you can switch in between navi, dvd, am/fm, and library
when i say "flicker", it means the first initial screen will show a message at the very top stating the pioneer navigation is initializing and at that very moment you turn your lights on and off.

Thanx...I'm pretty damn happy with it...Don't have the avic-88 taking up cargo space anymore...:) (Now if I could just stealth my amp and that huge 12 dvd/cd changer in the back I'd be in heaven)

How do u like the double din?? I was looking at eclpise. They have a single flip out unit thats just dvd, and a double din w/o the HDD but uses the cd for the navi. I can get a killer discount at my job, but when im sitting normal in my seat i cant see about 1/2 my radio area due to the sterring wheel. If i get the getho lean going on i can see the whole radio area. So if i would get a double din it may be a pain. but i don't know if i want the flip out getting in the way
Whats ur opion on the single flip or the double din?

I had teh AVH-P6500DVD before this, had no probs with the steering wheel being in the way and you can set the angle on it. All of the pioneer flip outs have that feature. You might want to look into the AVH-P6800DVD
