Hey guy's I had a question, I have a friend who owns a 91 Eagle Talon with the 2.0 4g63 n/t, and he was telling me that he wanted 2 rebuild the engine, and make the internals bigger, and put a turbo. But he also said that maybe he would swap it for a 4g63t, now my question is if he got the 4g63n/t rebuilded with bigger internals, and put a turbo on it, would it be as power as the 4g63t, I know both are identical, but one has turbo power, and the other doesn't, so would it be the same, or would the 4g63t be better, any opions I would appriciate it.

The internals are the only difference between the turbos and nonturbos in the 1g dsms... They have different compression, cams, etc... He would be best off to rebuild it with turbo 4g63 internals and then get a turbo ecu. After that all he would need is all the proper bolt ons. (turbo manifold, turbo, oil lines, smic, intercooler piping, bov, mbc, etc...) I believe I remember seeing a "how to turbo a non-turbo" thread somewhere. I'm not sure if it was in the FAQ's thread or not, you'll just have to look around for it.

Buying a turbo car is wayyyyy easier, cheaper, and you can get AWD.

If you put 4g63t internals in a 4g63 n/a and slapped on a turbo, it would be exactly like a 4g63t, minus the oil squirters in the block. But then you have to worry about the ECU, wiring, and problems that arise from the swap. I agree with Thor, just buy a turbo.
