These pics were taking last night at HIN in Boston. There was nothing extra ordinary about this car at first... No body kit,.. just rims and lower'd and a nice paint job.. Nothing extra special, Just a nice looking 2gen eclipse. So i was wondering why everyone was so amazed by it. As i got closer I realized everybody was looking at the Engine compartment. Well heres the pics. (sorry i didn't sized them) P.S: there were a bunch of 3g turbo cars at last night show. Just thought I'd mention that.

interesting way to mount the turbo, not really a "top-mounted" setup

I don't know what that bulge with two lines going in is on the upper intercooler piping though, I have an idea, but have never seen it on a DSM.

I have an idea what it might be.... Supposudly making a vortex or a bottle necking of air forces it to the intake and somehow is better for performence flow etc. I have no idea if that is the case, because if that is going to happen it is usally in the smim. Or my other idea is to have more air flowing, that simple. Who knows though.

Isn't that like one of those air to water type intercoolers?

Water to air inter coolers still have the big radiator style lookin core I think though...

Notice whats not between the filter and the turbo?

Yes its a liquid to air intercooler. I wonder what turbo that is, or what his whole setup is for that matter

It's a PWR-Barrel intercooler which is a liquid to air cooler.

yeah I thought it was an air/water intercooler, we use a similar setup in lab to condense gases...

When I saw the PWR IC and the straight out manifold I immediately recognized the car as one of the guys at trick engineering. Sure enough it's on the windshield in one pic. I don't think the car has run at the track on the new setup, but I believe it ran mid to high 11s on a previous setup. Can't remember what turbo it was. The shop is in hampstead New Hampshire, the site is http://www.trickengineering.com. I stopped in once to talk to Jeff, decent guys over there. They also have a 2wd Land and Sea dyno.

yea if you want to tone those down a bit from 2500 pixels or somethign like that to like 600x400 that would be great

You wouldn't have a problem viewing them if you would crank your resolution up to 1600x1200 like I do sometimes on this computer. lol  :icon16:

I like how he cut those holes there, gives it that "Evo" touch.
