Problematic acceleration immediately after heavy breaking.

Greetings,

1993 Buick Lesabre.

If I apply breaks heavily, whether or not I make a complete stop and then immediately press gas to go forward, the car often struggles for a second or two to start accelerating.

However, if I give it about 2 seconds to relax after beraking, there is no problem with acceleration.

This never happens without heavy breaking before acceleration.

I am wondering what could it be.

Thank you

It sounds like fuel starvation. How much gas do you have in the tank when this happens?

Problem seems to not change with gas tank completely filled up.

There is starvation however, on right turns at less than a 1/4 of gas soemtimes.

Have you changed the fuel filter lately?

Get a fuel pressure gage on it, tape it to the w/s and observe the fp when this occurs.

I dont understand where I should tape the fuel pressure gage :) sry

Id like to mention I have Actron OBDII reader scanner. Maybe it might help to diagnose in any way?

To the windshield to see the gage when driving.

I vote clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel pressure regulator, or possibly a dying fuel pump.

You might check for a power brake booster vacuum leak:

1 - run vehicle for a short bit.
2 - with foot off brake pedal, turn off engine and wait a few seconds.
3 - push firmly down on brake pedal. You should hear a momentary hiss as the power assist kicks in. Hold it there for a bit.
4 - release brake pedal.
5 - push down brake pedal again, firmly. You should hear the momentary power assist hiss again.
6 - repeat the process. You should get two to three full pushes of the brake pedal before the power assist runs out.
