with everything all covered up like that it reminds me of looking under the hood of a mercedes, you don't have easy access to anything..

yea, take off the fender skirt covers and i bet every thing is right there. look at the plugs on the drivers side, it looks like it would be open enough to chandge them easily.

Actually I would like for it to look something like that.. along with it to come right off like in my mom's F150.. most of the plastic crap just pulls right off or takes a screwdriver..

THINK OF YOUR ROOTS!!!!
if it's a Camaro, and it's an LS2, it should be ready to work on because that's what small blocks have always been known for. No way am I letting this camaro become a 'dealer service only'. Okay maybe I don't have much control over all that but you get my point.

Doubt it would be anything other than plastic.. you'd be adding unnecessary weight..

no camaro has ever had all those stupid covers before... even vettes barely have anything covered... i'll be pissed if they do it, and i would immediately sell every last piece of that shit. seriously, that stuff like you guys have said is just like what they do w/ bmw and mercedes, and how much actual car knowledge does the average bmw or mercedes owner have? none. they dress it up and cover everything so that when those guys pop the hood, it is clear where the engine actually is, and everything else is covered, therefore people can't ask the owners what that stuff is... cuz they can't answer and bmw wouldn't want their owners looking stupid... personally i care about functionality, nothing else... stupid plastic that takes me 5 extra min to take off will do nothin but piss me off, and they sure as hell would not go back on... that junk is just in the way, camaro is not a mercedes, besides, performance oriented people don't want that shit anyway...

The thing about the covers, atleast the way that I see it is that the companies are trying to sort of reach to other people.. because I know many auto owners who open the hood up, look at the engine and are lost.. so maybe the covers are better for those types of people.. who knows whats with that. :lol2:

your average factory engine does not look very spectacular with the hood open, to the average consumer. Just looks like a big hunk of steel and rubber tubing and crap like that. With the cover on it, it looks futuristic and shiny! and you can point and say "thats my engine!" and other people that dont know anything can't say "what does this do?" because there isn't anything to point at, except for shiny chrome-covered plastic!

haha, like that cingular commercial, that guy asks that one guy why he carries a cell phone if he doesn't use it and he says "because it's shiny"
