Loud Humming at Rear Wheels in my 01

We have a '01 Sonata with about 66k miles. Here within the last six months the rear wheels, right side especially, makes an extremely loud humming noise at any speeds. It does get much worse when driving over 55 but is still noticeable while driving 20 in town.

The car has been serviced many times, and has been looked at by my tire place and they all say nothing. Even my dad, a mechanic said it was just road noise, but when you almost have to Yell to here each other talk...that's pretty far from road noise.

I did hear one time their was a recall on the rear wheel hubs, but havent been able to find any information on it. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it just the hubs wearing out, kind of early I think, or maybe my tires are screwed up, I dont know but it drives me Nuts! :banghead:
Thx for all your help,
Chris & Jen

I have a 2005 but haven't yet come across that problem in it ... but I did in my 2000 gmc jimmy I traded in ... I think you might be right.. The hubs are going out .. Was a really loud hum at any speed and got worse faster it went... these was the front ones however but after changing the left one ( which was making worse hum ) the noise went away ... Looking at my 2005 Sonata I see it looks like they are hub assemblys also ... so it looks like the whole unit has to be replaced like in the jimmy ... not hard to change by the way ......

edit: my jimmy had 62,000 miles on it when i had the problem

It could be the rear hub, or tires. There wasn't a recall on the rear hub on the Sonata. Possibly a TSB, but no recall. If you need the hub, the most commonly sold part number is 52730-38003. List on it is $220.96. I can sell for $175 shipped. I would need your vin to verify this part #, but thats the one I sell 99% of the time. I hav these in stock, so I can ship same day. Give me a call if I can help.
