Currently I have a Ranger, however, I want to step up to either a 2500 or F-250. Any experiences or advice with these trucks. I'll be traveling a lot with full loads, not heavy, just full cargo space and bed.

Although both are good trucks, I'm preferential to the Dodge. My brother has a 2005 2500 with diesel, auto, gets about 20mpg in mixed driving, and loves the power. He hasn't had any issues with the truck. The HEMI engine gets worse mileage. I've heard everything from 9mpg in town to 17-18 on the highway.
The EPA doesn't do mileage tests on heavy duty pickups, so only know through word of mouth how thirsty they are. I've heard the Ford Powerstroke burns more fuel, 13-15 mpg on average.
I think the Dodge would be a little less expensive also.
