Shocks

I have a '99 Blazer LS 2WD that is my daily driver. I recently noticed I have a leaking shock. Since I have a bad shock I might as well replace them all since I have 93K on the odometer. I'm looking for recommendations of shocks to use and any install tips.

I mostly do street and highway driving. I would like a decent comfortable shock.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Rick

We've answered the same question a few times, so I'll save the debate and just give you some links.

The install is usually pretty straight forward, but if you need advice on it please just ask for it.

Like OverBoard said, do a search or check the links he provided. In your case though I would go with the most inexpesive shock you can find at like a pep boys or an auto zone. Usually, but not in all cases, the cheaper the shock the better the ride quality under normal driving conditions. Basically soft, so through the bumps or hard cornering you are going to tell you have a cheap shock, but on the highway and regular paved taken care of roads you should have a plush ride. Good luck and post what you buy!

Thanks for the responses. I'm probably going to check out some Monroe's or KYB GR2's.

Monroes Sensi-tracs will give you a comfortable ride.

I personally installed some cheap heavy duty shocks. They are fine but the ride is a little rough especially with 18s.

I had some Spax adjustables in the UK. They had a small side mounted screw which let you adjust the amount of damping that you required.

Any suggestions on where to get the best price on Monroe's? I checked Rockauto but they didn't have the Sensa Trac's listed for a 2wd Blazer.

Check your local auto-parts stores for stock.

Check your local auto-parts stores for stock.

That is what I did. Total out the door including local sales tax was around $150 for 4.
