Hi guys!
My name is Simon, I'm 21 and I live in Canada. I own an Eclipse Spyder GS 97, which my father import me from USA, since they never sold this car here.
My car is pretty much stock, except a new red paint with flakes in it, 17 inches Fast Wheels Virus, Alpine sound system and white gauges.
Right now, I am looking to put in a leather interior and lower the car, because it almost looks like a rally car. Someone got a good recommandation for me?
Here is some pics of the car.
When I got it

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend and what you are looking for. If you want to spend some money look in to a tien ss coilover system, its adjustable and I've heard good thinks about it. If your like the rest of us and are on a budget you can do something like a set of kyb gas shocks with some eibach springs. As far as leather go, try and find a local reapolsterer*(someone that covers chairs and such for a living(sorry no spell check were I am)

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I don't want to spend a fortune to lower my car, but I am not looking for cheap stuff at 50$ neither. Do I need to change the springs and the shocks?

You can do a couple of things. Either buy lowing springs that will drop your car about 1.2-1.5in, or buy a new Coilover system . Tein makes a nice kit for $100. The downfall with lowering springs are, they dont ussally have a very high Spring pressure rate. I believe the TEIN's are about 175 front and rear.
If you plan on taking your car to the track, you'll want to stiffin up the susspention up a bit, and eliminate as much latural & horizonal body role as possable. A good way is to get a decent Coilover setup that will let you specify how low you want your car to sit. Using TEIN SS coilovers agian, they use a 450-550 lb/spring rate, and will let you drop the car IIRC upto 3-4 inches.
Their are plenty of springs and coil overs out their. It's just upto you wether you want to spend $100 or $1000.

Good to see you on the forum.
As far as lowering goes, scottsee pretty much covered it. You can spend a couple hundred dollars on a spring/shock combo, or you can spend 750-1000+ on a full coilover system, depending on the model. I plan on going with TEIN SS coilovers, which are expensive but are fully adjustable. Just all depends on how far you want to take your car and how much you want to spend.
For interior, a good upholstery shop will be able to reupholster your stock seats, but I have no idea how much this costs. I got lucky because the previous owner of my car already had the interior reupholstered.

In JC Whitney, they have leather reupholstering services. Around $500 for cloth, I think $700 for leather. 97-99 had some cars that had leather seats right? I'd talk around local DSM circles and see if anyone wants to get rid of theirs.
As far as the suspension goes, I would either get new code KYB AGX's or Tokico Illumina shocks and Eibach sportline (~2" drop) or Eibach pro kit (~1.25" drop?). That combo will run you like $450-$650 depending on whether you will go eBay or not. I am almost a little against coilovers, especially Tien, unless you really need them. Yeah, adjustability is cool but remember that unless your pockets are super deep and you get the Tien SS coilovers and in-car adjustability module (like $1800? Pretty damn expensive anyway), adjusting them will take a bit of time and what if do dont get them exactly right and have different lengths all the way around? Too much hassle/room for error if you ask me. Also, each time you change the ride height, you will throw off your alignment and need to get a new one, and that could cost you a lot of money. If I had to get coilovers, I'd go with the Megan racing ones or with Ground Controls. The Megan ones are like $850 on eBay and are a complete unit. Ground Controls are basically the only sleeve style coilover worth your time. They run $400-$500 last I checked and I havent found a place to get them from besides the manufacturer. You will need to find a set of shocks to use with them (again, I'd go AGX or Illumina). Also, they will make your springs to whatever compression weights you want them to.

I am still on the quest... And I figure with my car off the road for a few months I can put the money towards the motor and then worry about seats when its actually running again. lol

Holy crap still snow?!?! How far north do you live? Are you part penguin or polar bear cause otherwise why would you live somewhere that has snow in may (unless it melts by tomorrow)? I'm just messing around. About the suspension I'm getting k-sport coilovers people seem to really like them and the cost about $700 for a set, I'm not sure if they make them for n/t's or spyders (do the spyders has different suspension from nonspyders?)
