Im building this car beacuse I will hopefully be getting one in the next few weeks. :evillol: As most of you already know this a great kit. Undercarge went together in a snap. So far I have lowered it. I am debating on making the tail lights the way the 2006s are normally or making them look like a 2005.

I'm glad someone worked out how to lower this model, as I really buggered mine up. I built the WRX STi, and didn't do enough test fitting, and in the end it sat like a rally car and then some. Looked really bad.
also, be careful when you attach the chassis to the body when you have the body all painted. I cracked my front bumper as I was putting the body to the chassis, and I never really fixed it correctly.
I thought the kit was great until I had these few mishaps. Best of luck. Hope you get on better then I did.

The new style tail lights look HOT on white cars, and pretty lame on anything else. :2cents:

The front bumper is the one you can't glue on until after painting, as its' the front grill that stops this, as you need to install the front grill first, and then attach to the body.
I've looked over since since I had the problem, and I really cannot see any way to attach the bumpers after attaching the body to the chassis. I recommend you cut off the front locator pins and find another way to securing the body to the chassis at the front.
It's trying to get the locator pins at the front that puts the stress on the body, and cracks it. I've now sorted the ride height, but it's not as low as yours. I ripped of the brake discs and glues them a little higher up in the end.

Lowering the car was fairly simpil I built the strut and brake asselbmys, put the wheel on to see how low it needed to go then cut aproximately 2 to 3 coils of the strut. This worked for front a rear. Next you need to bend to front control arms so they touch. For the rear i had to break the control arms were they attach near the diff and then re-glue them so they were angled correctly.

I’m really glad you did lower this BEFORE you’d got it all assembled, as I noticed I couldn’t do anything other then rip off the brake discs, and glue the a little further up, but I only had so many mm I could play with. I should have done what you’ve done, but for me, it was too late. I ended up with
Tidy interior, doing better then what I did with mine.
