Got my heads back. It was the far side intake gasket. The compression loss was from the intake valves on #3 & #5. Both heads recon'd complete with valve job and new exhaust guides was 132.00. Got a great price from a great shop. This shop had the highest initial estimate on the phone but faster turn around and then came in way under on actual price.
Anyhow...the rocker arms; one manual calls for 1 & 1/2 rotations past zero lash and the other sez 3/4 turns past zero lash:banghead:.
Which one is correct for my '95, 3.1, APV?
Thanks

Thanks Jeff,
Is that all 3.1s? I keep hearing the vans are different engines.

Oops. You're right. This is 3.1 for APV, Sillhouette, etc...
Before installing the rocker arms, bolts, and pushrods, coat their bearing surface with a suitable prelube. Make sure to install these components in the exact locations from which they were removed.
Install the pushrods, making sure they seat properly in the lifter.
Install the rocker arms and bolts.
With all the rocker arms attached and the lower ends of the pushrods in the lifter seats, bring #1 cylinder to TDC (Top Dead Center) compression stroke. The rotor would be pointing at the #1 spark plug wire in the distributor cap.
Adjust the intake valves on cylinders #1, #5, #6. Adjustment is 11/2 turns past zero lash.
Adjust the exhaust valves on cylinders #1, #2, #3. Adjustment is 11/2 turns past zero lash
Next, bring #4 cylinder to TDC (Top dead Center) compression stroke. The rotor would point to the #4 spark plug wire at the distributor cap.
Adjust the intake valves on cylinders #2, #3, #4. Adjustment is 11/2 turns past zero lash
Adjust the exhaust valves on cylinders #4, #5, #6. Adjustment is 11/2 turns past zero lash
Install the rocker arm (valve) cover(s), as outlined in this section.
Connect the negative battery cable.

That is what the Chiltons said, Exactly in fact. Haynes puts it at 3/4 turn. I will go with the 1 & 1/2.
Thanks dudes
