I'm looking into buying a 2000 Civic Si 5 speed that has 58,000 miles on it and a JDM (imported from Japan) B16A Sir2 motor, AEM cold air intake, Eibach lowering springs, and has been converted to OBD 1 w/ JDM p30 ECU. Can someone tell me what the hell OBD 1 w/JDM p30 ECU means? That's the only part that confuses me. I don't know much at all about JDM motors. But this guy wants 8800 for the car. I want to know if its worth it. The car also has a few dents and scratches on the fender and bumper. Nothing that I can't fix myself.

This is the upgraded Engine Control Unit (ECU) designed to work with the engine swap.
BTW, that engine swap is @ $4500 by itself...

ummm its not a 4,500 by its self if you think it is then u might wanna shop around......it cost around 2,150 with 20k miles on it.....as for the car assume its been driven hard.....and if the other person tore it up then you will be running into lots of problems down the road.....just something to think about......but for the price its a good price SI's are hard to come by just as long as its in good shape....as for the ECU its just a swapped ECU for that motor different fuel maps and such

8-10 more hp over the stock b16a2. You should figure out if your state has emissions testing for OBD2 vehicles, if you do then there's going to be a problem with having an OBD1 engine and ECU. Basically; newer car with older engine. Different emission controls and testing procedures.
