replace head light bulb

I need to replace the head light:banghead:

ok thats a little hard for us to answer if you dont tell us what year altima you have... on top of that, that information is easily found in your vehicle's manual, in your passenger glove compartment

actually i'd like to ask a question regarding my 94 altima's driver side headlight... i changed the two of them a few months ago b/c the one on the driver's side blew... then about two months later, the same bulb blew... is this just coincidence or is there an electrical problem im not picking up on?

Im having the same problem, my mother has an 03 altima and even though Im a girl, my tiny fingers aint geting to those bulbs

my driver's side headlight has been going out every few months too. (97 altima). Don't know how it is for an 03, but for changing the same headlight in a 97, easiest/quickest thing to do is take the battery out. 4" of space to almost 12". as for the passenger side, supposedly you can take the coolant reserve tank out, but thus far i've never had to. http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl258h.htm


on a revised side note, it's really easy to replace the passenger headlight once the coolant tank is removed. might need a bit of tough love to remove it, but once it comes out, easy sailing from there on out.

Changing a Headlight bulb for 02 ALtimas and up , are a little tricky. There is a ground plate that has to be on the back of the bulb. If one is not present then it may be subjected to a recall , call Headlight Ground plate recall. The recall Consists of inspecting your head lamp assembly's and installing the ground plates. If nay bulbs are out Nissan will replace them at no charge.

In any case to replace the bulbs for 02 and up there is a Big screw cap seal that has to be removed then you have a spring clip holding down the bulb , then you have to take the bulb out with the ground plate. Transfer ground plate to new bulb , Note, it just lays against the bulb it doesn't snap or stay on it, When you put the bulb in it's a little tricky to hold the bulb and ground plate to put clip back on. If you can get that far Then all you have to do it put the big plastic cap on , witch could be a little tricky also. Gl..

My 95' right side bulb is very dim, and it's been about three months since I replaced them and it is dim again. My passenger sid is just fine. Any suggestions?

As for changine the bulb, the coolant tank is easy to take off, and the battery even easier to remove. Good luck.
