My friend has a 99 prelude and hes going to buy a turbo kit for it. And i was just wondering since my friends and I are into cars and we're not used to being under the hood. I was just wondering is it possible if we have the garage space to put on a turbo charger ourselves or is it necessary to bring it to a custom shop for tjhem to do it

The mere fact that you're asking this leads me to advise you to take it to a professional.

i agree with polygon + if you have to rebuild the engine to handle the turbo you're probably gonna fuck up a couple of things putting it together in your garage

probably $600-1000......and for the record, you can do it yourself if you're mechanically inclined and have some free time....i'm doing part of my GSR turbo this weekend and the rest next weekend....i'll hopefully have some pics to share in the Honda Section.....

if you have a friend who knows what he's doing (ie he's installed a turbocharger system himself) he can help you do it. i wouldn't suggest you do it yourself, at least not now. if it was a supercharger system i'd say go for it because alot of them are bolt on kits and are easy to install but turbochargers are much more complex.
