Sunbird...is it worth it?

Hi guys, i bought a 87 Sunbird last year with a blown head on it. I bought a new head and ran out of time and money to replace the cam, rockers, and lifters it needs. I now have two jobs and am saving up, and i'm wondering if it's worth it to go through a restoration. I know it's not that old of a car and i'm only 17, so it's easier then dealing with a classic car right now. Parts are still pretty well widly available, it's in decent condition (besides the fact it needs a driverside floorboard) and i can get ahold of a junk motor for CHEAP...like 20 bucks, which has a shot head but a good block. It's a potentional rebuild...but what's your opinions? Would you do it? Thanks!

Any car that can be repaired is worth the cost you paid. If you can put a few dollars and some blood, sweat and tears in to it then you have something you can be proud of regardless of the age or the model. Of course a classic car would be better but you go with what you have. Just remember you can always say I did it myself and if it gets you by while you save money for a newer car then the car is worth a lot. Good Luck!

go for it man, especially if it's the 4cyl. motor. They were supposed to be reliable if taken good care of.

Mine hasn't let me down once. It has 112,000 on it.
