Easy fix ... kinda ... take off the lower dash kickplate under the steering column ... unbolt the two nuts that hold the column to the dash ... pull down on the column a little and you'll see/feel a rod that runs from the ignition switch to an electrical connector half way down the column ... wiggle the rod and it will free it up, BUT, be warned that it's probably the connector on the column, and a PITA to replace ... GOOD LUCK !!!

It's probably just a worn out lock cylinder in the ignition. I had that happen with the car running, and I couldn't shut it off. That was a chevy Beretta. A chevy dealership fixed it for me for about $300. It will happen more often if you keep too many keys on your keychain, the weight messes up the ignition. I bet a locksmith could fix it cheaper than a dealer will. Worth calling one to find out. They usually charge $50 minimum for a visit though.

maybe its yer gears. Put em in every possible gear and then put it in park again. Some times gears get stuck. For automatic if tats the one.
