No power,white smoke in exhaust

Hi i have a 93 blazer 4.3 v6 engine has no power white smoke coming out of exhaust that smell's like gas,engine oil has gas in it.i dont know where to start looking to trouble shoot,"Any Ideas"your help will be appreciated.thank's

White smoke is usually from water (steam). Sounds like a blown head gasket or something of that nature.

Is the radiator water level going down? The headgasket does sound suspect.

Why do you think that there is gas in the oil? What does the oil look like?

i pulled the dip stick to see if there was water in the oil figuring a blown head gasket but the oil was clearish and when i smelled it strong gas odor.so i dont know where to start to look.it has the CPI unit not a TBI.exhaust smell's like strong unburnt gas.let me know thank you mark.

I would start by looking at the plugs. It would help identify the bad cylinder. I would try and run a compression test at the same time too. I have the 1989 4.3 V6 - is that the same engine?

Also a simple pressure and/or exhaust gas test on the cooling system may check some things too.

Yes do all the cheap tests first. If you have an injector that it is stuck open or leaking then possibly fuel could be leaking past the cylinder walls into the sump. You don't want to run long like that the gas will wash away all the oil from the cylinder walls and this can cause major damage. A plug check should idnetify the bad cylinder and then you can check the injector more closely. You may find water in the bore then etc. I wouldn't want to leave water in the bore for too long. So I would do the plug check pretty soon.

Did you loose any water from the radiator. Ae there any nasty deposits on the inside of the radiator cap.
However white smoke is generally water or oil burning. Rich mixture produces black smoke. Do you get a lot of water condensing on your hand when you put it in the exhaust stream at the back of the car. Don't burn your hand.

Hmm, no power, gas in oil, gas in exhaust (white smoke) sure sounds like fuel leaking into intake in more than one cyclinder. thinking on keyboard,,,

A rich mixture normally runs with a black sooty exhaust - something doesn't seem right but it will all make sense in the end I think. Oil and water are both white in my experience as well as brake fluid but that has a distinctive smell.

Overly rich fuel mixture can give you a white exhaust as well.

All that has been said here is pointing towards a blown cpi injector and nut kit.
