I was told by a mechanic( that i trust) at a Ford dealership that my truck is running lean due to the upper and lower intake gaskets in my 1998 ford ranger V6 4.0 needing to be changed. Can a weekend mechanic like myself do this? Any advice or instruction? Any special tools required?
thanks.
thanks.

Get a repair manual. They have detailed instructions of the procedure, the correct torque specifications and the bolt sequences. Or take a piece of paper with you to an automotive store and just write it down. I've done that for firing orders and other specifications.
